About us

Selkirk Regeneration and Sustainable Selkirk

Selkirk Regeneration is a community-based charity (SCIO number SC037397) with the aim of bringing benefit to the people of Selkirk and the surrounding area through sustainable development towards a low-carbon future.

Sustainable Selkirk is a project delivered by Selkirk Regeneration and is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund. Its key objectives are to reduce Selkirk’s carbon footprint by;

  • providing advice to local residents and businesses regarding practical and cost-effective ways to reduce their energy and resource consumption
  • promoting sustainable modes of transport
  • increasing public awareness of both the causes and consequences of climate change.

Sustainable Selkirk is based at our Community Energy Advice Centre, 5 Tower Street – located in the heart of the town – and is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays 10 am – 2 pm. Pop in and see us to find out more about what we do, book a home energy visit, hire an e-bike and recycle your hard-to-recycle items.

We believe a healthy community is a happy community, and vice versa. Therefore, we are focused on promoting social well-being, boosting local economic resilience and responding to environmental change by bringing the local people together through our activities for a more Sustainable and Climate-Ready Selkirk.
